SNIKY, Nautitech 48 Open : Heading for the Atlantic and the ARC Rally 2025
World tour
This a truly beautiful boat!
When SNIKY, a Nautitech 48 Open delivered in July 2025, prepares to set sail for the ARC Rally 2025, its owner is pursuing a threefold objective: pushing personal limits, living a meaningful human adventure, and making full use of a catamaran designed for long-distance cruising.

Nautitech 48 Open
A project born from a dream, but above all from a clear conviction
“The capabilities of the new Nautitech 48 Open” make it the ideal boat for this crossing, combined with “a new personal challenge/adventure” and the “opportunities the world of sailing presents.”
1
An adventure inspired by a boat built for the open ocean
From the very first miles, the Nautitech 48 Open inspired confidence.
The owner highlights the decisive criteria behind this choice:
“A unique combination of comfort and performance”, along with “the quality of the boat and comfort,” two essential assets when planning an Atlantic crossing.
2
A methodical preparation from the moment of delivery
Preparation officially began as soon as the boat was handed over:
“Since the delivery in July 2025,” the owner explains, describing a complete process mixing handover, sea trials, and technical fine-tuning.
Several key steps structured the preparation:
- Stress testing all systems,
- Long sea trials in real conditions,
- Working closely with the Nautitech support team to resolve issues,
- Targeted upgrades,
- Crew training during longer passages,
- Detailed route planning and logistics.
Some elements were remarkably straightforward:
“The easiest: buying supplies/tools, installing upgrades, addressing issues.”
Others required greater precision and discipline:
“The most challenging: creating an ‘in-tune’ boat where all components — the boat, equipment, crew — are working in perfect synchronicity.”
Achieving this harmony became the core of the project.
Upgrades tailored for the ARC
To optimise SNIKY for the trade winds, several improvements were made:
- • installation of a Parasailor,
- • an upgraded battery monitoring system,
- • an additional battery to increase electrical autonomy.
These enhancements reflect a thoughtful, safety-focused approach to offshore preparation.
A crew brought together through complementarity
The crew gradually assembled through recommendations and encounters.
Each member contributes skills, experience, and energy, forming a cohesive and motivated team.
Part of the preparation involved ensuring everyone understood the boat, its systems, and its behaviour, so that manoeuvres become instinctive and teamwork seamless during the crossing.
3
An ecosystem built around excellence and precision
To prepare SNIKY for the ARC, the owner didn’t just ready the boat — he built a full ecosystem around himself, driven by a search for perfection.
- He surrounded himself with top-tier professionals, to ensure the boat was in impeccable condition.
- He put together an onboard team with the standards and organisation of an experienced crew — skilled, structured, complementary.
- He established a network of experts, suppliers, trainers, and advisors able to intervene quickly and effectively.
- Every decision, upgrade, and procedure was evaluated with a perfectionist mindset aimed at achieving an optimal balance between safety, performance, and comfort.
This rigorous approach shaped the entire preparation: nothing was left to chance, and every detail was refined until the whole system — boat, crew, equipment, operations — worked as a single, perfectly tuned entity.

Nautitech support on the ARC starting line
In the days leading up to the departure, a Nautitech technician travelled to Las Palmas to assist the participating crews, including SNIKY’s.
This on-site presence made it possible to:
- review critical systems,
- perform final adjustments,
- answer last technical questions,
- and provide reassurance before the boat set off into the Atlantic.
An initiative that reflects Nautitech’s commitment to supporting its owners right up to the starting line.
The Best is yet to come
As departure approaches, the mindset on board is simple and enthusiastic: “Having fun and a great experience.”
Beyond the challenge, the objective is to enjoy a powerful human journey, shaped by the rhythm of watches, the steadiness of the trade winds, and the joy of seeing SNIKY carve her path westward.
A new chapter for SNIKY – inspiring the entire Nautitech community
With a rigorous preparation, a united crew, and a catamaran built for performance and ocean capability, SNIKY is ready to write a new chapter.
A perfect embodiment of Nautitech’s philosophy:
sail far, sail long, sail together.
