Just a few weeks after its first sails, the Nautitech 41 Type S reaches a new milestone with its official nomination for European Yacht of the Year 2027. A first international recognition for this new catamaran, born from a clear ambition: to put sailing and sensations back at the heart of the experience.

The 41 Type S among the European Yacht of the Year 2027 nominees

Unveiled and launched in summer 2026, the Nautitech 41 Type S is officially among the yachts nominated for European Yacht of the Year 2027.

This year, the jury has selected 21 new yachts, including seven multihulls. A selection that reflects current developments in the sailing market, with growing attention being paid to concepts that combine performance under sail, ease of use and quality of life on board.

For the 41 Type S, this nomination comes just a few weeks after its first sails.

It marks an important first milestone in the story of this new model and recognises the choices that have shaped its development.

A different vision of the sailing catamaran

The 41 Type S was born from a clear intention: to create a catamaran that makes you want to sail as much as you want to live on board.

Its architecture was developed around the pursuit of balance, lightness and sailing sensations.

With its two aft helm stations, the helmsman enjoys a direct connection with the sea, the sails and the boat. Its sail plan and centralised weight distribution have been designed to promote balance under sail and responsiveness.

Its WhisperHull™ hulls have been engineered to promote smoother water flow and reduce noise-generating turbulence.

Its fully glazed aft bulkhead is a genuine technical achievement. This structural glass panel provides a panoramic 360° view of the horizon while flooding the saloon with natural light.

On board, this philosophy is also reflected in open and intuitive circulation, unobstructed side decks and a natural continuity between the different living areas.

The 41 Type S therefore embraces a 50/50 balance between indoor and outdoor spaces, offering a different way to experience life aboard a catamaran, both under sail and at anchor.

A nomination that will ultimately be decided at sea

European Yacht of the Year stands apart through its selection process: the nomination is only the first step.

The nominated yachts are then put through several days of comparative sea trials in real sailing conditions.

In mid-October 2026, the Nautitech 41 Type S will head to Palma de Mallorca to sail before the European Yacht of the Year jury.

Made up of representatives from twelve leading European sailing media, the jury will assess the yachts across a range of criteria, including their behaviour under sail, handling, deck ergonomics, as well as the quality and functionality of their interiors.

A fitting next step for a boat whose entire philosophy has been built around the experience of being at sea. Now, the 41 Type S will have to let its choices speak for themselves on the water.

A first recognition for a new chapter at Nautitech

This nomination also recognises several years of development and the collective work behind the project.

Naval architects, designers, the engineering team, production teams, suppliers and partners have all worked towards the same objective: not simply to develop another new model, but to offer a different interpretation of the 41-foot sailing catamaran.

Just a few weeks after its launch, seeing the 41 Type S join the European Yacht of the Year 2027 selection is a first recognition of this approach.

The next stage will take place in Palma. And this time, the 41 Type S will have to make the difference under sail.
