The Brand

It is in Rochefort sur Mer, the very cradle of shipbuilding and naval architecture and birthplace of Pierre Loti, that NAUTITECH CATAMARANS has anchored its activity of construction of luxury catamarans. Anyone familiar with the world of multihulls can quickly appreciate the innovative nature of NAUTITECH CATAMARANS, the first manufacturer to understand and define the very spirit of a catamaran. Nautitech were also the first to propose the concept of open living onboard, that combines the saloon and cockpit into one spacious, functional living area. Understanding how important sensations at the helm are to their customers, NAUTITECH CATAMARANS places equal emphasis on sailing ability and comfort. To date, NAUTITECH CATAMARANS has 150 employees, 50 catamarans built per year; over 70% export worldwide, via more than 50 agents.

"NAUTITECH catamarans: the perfect balance between performance and comfort"

My relationship with NAUTITECH CATAMARANS, started in 2009 with the design of the Nautitech 54 ', was built around the fact that this range was to be the perfect balance between performance and comfort, for private customers who are "keen on sailing" but want comfort to be adapted to our times as well as for boaters who rent a boat but do not want it to be a simple "floating caravan". What I mean by "performance" are genuine sensations at the helm, good top speed when conditions are favorable, and more specifically, high average speed upwind and downwind, without forgetting the important aspect of the time spent motoring, which is frequent with long-distance cruising.

And all this without ever having to worry for safety in "family" navigation conditions. With regards to comfort, I expect a clear, modern and functional layout, adapted to the sea as well as mooring and life on board under all its aspects.

The "Open" range was created on the basis of this idea of balance, by proposing the "square-cockpit" living space concept without too formal a visual separation and without a double dining area. Similarly, the hull balance is a judicious compromise between a moderate waterline breadth to limit the wet surface and a large volume where useful in terms of amenities. This is made possible by a pronounced longitudinal redan which also acts as a stiffener, resulting in aesthetics and function being intimately connected ...

"We leave nothing to chance "

To praise the French experts in the construction of multihulls is not enough.

Our design office, but also our other departments, recruit engineers and technicians who, in addition to their professional skills, are also passionate about sailing and are enriched either, already with a nautical CV or experience sailor's cue. In addition to the calculations of mechanical constraints, empirical knowledge must be added.

On the other hand, in addition to the expertise of Marc Lombard with whom we have been working for many years already, we do not hesitate to surround ourselves with different experts such as ICNN, CRITT or RESCOLL. Thus, tests in terms of collage or calculations and sizing, prototyping complete and validate our recommendations.

Finally, as far as our suppliers are concerned, we take care to select the best partners: it is also a guarantee of quality. Each of them is a leader in their sector. Thus, we leave nothing to chance as to the equipment and accessories of our catamarans.

PASCAL BAUDU, GRP Workshop Manager

"NAUTITECH catamarans are a safe bet that we are proud of"

When NAUTITECH moved to Rochefort in 2008, I was already working for the CIM site, which had been a Dufour subcontractor since 1996 and manufactured the Nautitech 47. At the time, the level of requirements was pushed in terms of construction quality and production was regularly audited by various certification bodies such as Bureau Veritas, the Det Norske Veritas or the Rina for catamarans for professional use.

All we had to do was transpose this level of requirements to the NAUTITECH catamarans and focus on the finishes in order to offer high-end products for owners. Weight being a key factor in the construction of catamarans, the integration of infusion into our manufacturing processes in 2011 allowed us to reduce weight by around 20% and gas emissions by 80%. In addition to the vacuum infusion, we use isophthalic gelcoat and specific resins such as vinylster (only hard layer) for the hulls to ensure the quality, robustness and durability of our catamarans.

All the partitions used in the structure of our boats are also built using this polyester sandwich brewing process, always with the aim of controlling weight and solidity. These manufacturing processes combined with the experience of our composite operators make NAUTITECH catamarans a safe bet that we are proud of.
